The windows operating system can be extremely helpful when operating correctly. Like any system however, if not properly managed, it can bring its fair share of difficulties.

The most common issues customers have with windows operating systems are overprovisioning, under provisioning, and application issues.

If under provisioned or over provisioned, a lot of times a customer may encounter issues with usage spikes, or memory issues. To solve this, typically you need to collect data, analyze it, and find common trends.

An example of this would be users logging in to use applications or run certain processes. And those applications or processes run slow or under perform. The servers cpu- or memory- spikes constantly and never goes below 90% utilization. This is known as underprovisioning when there are not enough resources available. Overprovisioning occurs when there is an excess of resources available. Many times a customer may not even know about these issues without the analysis.

Application issues involve working in conjunction with the operating system. A lot of times the applications have issues with the operating systems due to any number of reasons. It could range from a patch that was deployed, to a change in the registry.
