In 1995, FNTS set out with a bold vision: to become a trusted partner in delivering cutting-edge managed IT services. Thirty years later, that vision has not only been realized, but it has also been exceeded. Today, FNTS stands as a nationally recognized leader in multi/hybrid cloud, mainframe optimization and secure IT solutions for some of the most highly regulated industries across the country.

As we mark our 30th anniversary, we reflect on a journey of innovation, resilience and transformation. From humble beginnings in Bellevue, Neb., with fewer than 15 employees, FNTS has grown into one of the fastest-growing managed service providers (MSPs) in the U.S., operating state-of-the-art Tier IV data centers and supporting enterprises nationwide.

Powered by Innovation from Day One

Starting as a managed service provider in 1995, FNTS has always had a pulse on the evolving technology landscape. In our early years, FNTS assisted financial institutions and community banks due to our strong security posture and understanding of their regulatory requirements. We supported their IT infrastructure needs, established greater network connectivity, assisted with Novell to Windows conversions, deployed WAN connectivity and converted clients from Token Ring to Ethernet networks. Our core services provided ongoing managed services and handling the day-to-day support of client infrastructure needs. Due to demand, we quickly expanded our services to other industries that faced stringent regulatory requirements.

In the early 2000s, we led the charge in hosting and colocation services and embraced virtualization with our pioneering Server-by-the-Slice model. As public and private cloud technologies gained momentum, we transitioned from a traditional Infrastructure-as-a-Service model to a fully integrated cloud platform. Today, our FNTS Cloud supports mainframe, IBM Power, distributed systems, hybrid cloud, public cloud environments and high performance computing (HPC).

Leadership that Inspires

FNTS President Kim Whittaker has been with FNTS since the beginning. Prior to joining FNTS, she worked at FNBO, a wholly owned subsidiary of First National of Nebraska—the parent company of FNTS. Since becoming the company’s first female President in 2017, she has guided FNTS through a transformational era.

Under Kim’s leadership, FNTS has doubled its revenue growth over the past 5-7 years, expanded strategic technology partnerships and grown its workforce to 130 employees. FNTS continues to invest in its clients, partnerships, people and culture.

• FNTS has grown strategic partnerships with key vendors. With strategic partnerships (including IBM Platinum Partner), top-tier certifications and expanded infrastructure capabilities like the IBM z16, we’re ready to support whatever comes next.
• Our technical architects research and analyze new technologies and trends. In addition, we encourage continual training and education across cloud, security, networking, IBM systems and more. Our experts work across many different client environments which provides a continual challenge and opportunity. In addition, we continually invest in new technologies that allow our team members to stay current with evolving technology.
• We leverage analysts and consultants to ensure we’re ahead of the curve with technological advancement.
• We routinely meet with clients to understand and overcome their greatest challenges while driving more value for their business.
• The FNTS management team has built a company culture and delivered an employee experience where leadership invests in employees, promotes internal collaboration and retains top technical talent. This investment has paid huge dividends, with very low employee turnover. Our Employee Net Promoter Score skyrocketed from 2 in 2020 to 60 in 2024. We believe “leaders exist everywhere” and foster a culture of transparency, collaboration and recognition.

In addition, FNTS’s Employee Relations Committee has spearheaded diversity efforts in the community through a Women in Technology scholarship program and a partnership with the University of Nebraska at Omaha to develop the next generation of mainframe talent.
