Relationships

I recently had a conversation with a customer and business partner who I hadn’t seen in over a year. He greeted me with a handshake and a hug. He was the toughest negotiator I have ever worked with, and in past phone negotiations he actually hung up on me several times. We’ve had this relationship for 15 years, and yet he greeted me with a hug!

My first deal with him was the same. The right solution, the right people; but man, he likes to negotiate!

FNTS served him well, and he never forgot about us. We maintained contact throughout the years, talking about our kids, our lives, and business.

He contacted me a couple years ago with a new opportunity. It was great to be back in the saddle again for a business interaction. He knew we had the right solution, the right people, and a track record of great support. Just like old times, he once again played the role of negotiator, and even hung up on me again.

We completed our deal, and a couple years later we are happy to see one another, even exchanging hugs.

This just reaffirms the old adage.  People buy from people.  Relationships matter.  I have so much respect for this man, and I am proud to call him not only customer, but also a friend.
